Dr Denise Marie is an integrative health specialist in Catholic clinical psychology, spiritual development, and whole-person wellness. She has over 40 years of experience in educational and clinical neuropsychological assessment plus care planning with a distinct focus on multifactor evaluation, wellbeing recovery, and preventive mental health needs.

She received her clinical psychology doctoral plus master's degrees from Fordham University, and psychology-foreign language bachelor's from NYU. After hospital work, miscarriage-infant loss research and her Ph.D., Dr. Denise obtained American Association of Family Counselor's Professional Family Counselor: Diplomate certification. During decades practicing as a clinical psychologist in metro NY parish-based family counseling centers, she followed a call to become a Third Order Carmelite. Alongside Carmelite studies in the US and Germany, Dr. Denise had spiritual director formation with internationally known priests (Dominican, Montfortian, Claretian, and Franciscan). She has since counseled plus spiritually directed seminarians, clergy and religious sisters. Further, Dr. Denise achieved IAP-certification in adult Wellness Coaching.
In addition to being Abilene Christian University-designated as a Subject Matter Expert in psychological illness, Dr. Denise taught Health Science at NYU's affiliated University of the People and Mental Health & Wellness for Grand Canyon University. Though retired in 2024 from this adjunct professor teaching of undergraduate and grad students, Dr. Denise continues to be an Integrative Health & Wellness trainer professor for the Institute For Personalist Psychology --a NY Catholic non-profit program where she also became Certified in Herbal Complementary Medicine.
Beyond this initial herbal medicine training, Dr. Denise continued on for a course with Idaho faith-based medicinal plants practitioner-educator Heidi Villegas, MA, CA (School of Botanical Arts & Sciences founder). Most recently, after more than a year of in-depth study under Christian doctor Lee Wellard, ND, MH, PhD (Master Herbalist from England and Australia), Dr. Denise became College of Natural Remedies (Georgia) Herbal Remedies Certified/HRC. In spare moments, she continues to pursue studies of St. Hildegard of Bingen's pioneer work with health foods & plants.

Available nationwide, she can make physical health referrals as needed. Dr. Denise is especially interested in functional/root-based behavioral health assessment & Catholic therapeutic counseling.
